Former Temple City mayor busted for bribery

TEMPLE CITY, Calif. Judy Wong pleaded no contest to charges she asked for and received $13,100 in bribes from developer Randy Wang in 2007 and 2008.

In addition to her jail sentence, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg ordered Wong to pay $16,700 in restitution to Wang and more than $16,000 in fines.

The 54-year-old was named in a 21-count indictment last year along with former Temple City mayor Cathrine Wilson, and Wilson's campaign treasurer Scott Carwile.

Wong pleaded no contest to 10 counts of bribery, perjury and solicitation to commit bribery.

Meanwhile, Wilson is due back in court on Nov. 8, with trial expected within 10 days of that date. Carwile is still awaiting sentencing.
