Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa kicked off the parade with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Other city officials who attended Sunday's parade included Calif. Attorney General Jerry Brown, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Councilwoman Jan Perry and Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina.
Dancers and musicians of various genres filled the parade route alongside intricately designed floats. ABC7's own Marc Brown, Alysha Del Valle and Sid Garcia also participated in the parade.
Hosts Danny Romero and Jovana Lara even got a surprise visit from boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.
Famed Spanish-born operatic tenor Placido Domingo led the parade, which Angelenos have been holding for 51 years. It is the largest and oldest Hispanic Parade in the United States.
The parade rolled down Cesar Chavez Avenue in East Los Angeles.
