Firefighters made quick work of a half-acre grass fire Tuesday in Ventura County. The fire broke out just after 10:30 a.m. and within 20 minutes firefighters had a line around the fire.

They were called to a ranch road on Osborne Road, between the cities of Santa Paula and Ojai, after a ranch employee called 911.

When firefighters arrived, the fire was burning in mostly grass and light brush. It was not particularly warm with temperatures in the low 70s and no wind.

The fire was mopped up with three engines and a hand crew, which consists of about 25 firefighters. No structures were ever threatened and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire still remains under investigation, but officials are asking everyone to be vigilant and careful because fire season is in effect.
