When "Castle" kicks off season three next week, viewers can expect one sure thing: Murder. But what else can viewers look forward to witnessing?

"We're going turn it a little bit upside down this season," said actor Nathan Fillion, who plays writer Richard Castle. "We're going to do some unexpected stuff."

"There's a great surprise that happens at the very beginning," said Seamus Dever, who plays Detective Kevin Ryan. "The first time I read the script, I was like, 'Oh, I can't believe they did this,' because in the first five minutes, you're sort of like, 'What? Wait a minute. What kind of show are we watching?'"

And just when it looked like a full romance might happen between Castle and Detective Kate Beckett, well, it still might.

"I say, sure. Why not?" said actress Stana Katic, who plays Beckett. "They should be able to get together and it should still be entertainment."

One co-star admits something is in the future for the two main characters.

"There's like a little something there," Tama Jones said. "You'll see a possible kiss."

But what else will we be seeing from the "Castle" cast?

"We've got a lot more action this season," said Jon Huertas, who plays Detective Javier Esposito. "We put our characters in more compromising situations this season than we have before in the past."

Season three of "Castle" kicks off at 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, on ABC7.
