MI girl, 6, booted over controversial cheer

DETROIT, Mich. It has turned into a full blown controversy, and parents are taking sides.

Jennifer Tesche said the cheer her daughter Kennedy was forced to say on her /*Michigan*/ cheerleading squad was completely inappropriate for a 6-year-old.

Tesche was so upset she took her concerns to the news media.

"'My back aches, my skirts are too tight, my booty shakes from left to right,'" Tesche quoted the cheer. "I think it's inappropriate. I do think it's suggestive, it's outdated, and it's stereotypical.''

Instead of siding with Tesche, local /*football*/ league officials decided to keep the cheer, and kicked Kennedy off the squad.

The cheerleading coach added fuel to the fire when he called the mother "a lunatic" during a radio interview.
