Mail worker accused of groping woman on route

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. Deputies said a 45-year-old postal worker is accused of groping a woman while delivering mail to her home on Wichita Road in Apple Valley on Monday.

The woman called police, who later stopped and questioned the postal worker while he was still on his route, authorities said.

Investigators said it's now up to prosecutors to determine if felony charges will be filed.

"The matter is under investigation by the /*Apple Valley Police Department*/. The letter carrier has been placed off-duty during the ongoing investigation," the /*USPS*/ said in a statement.

The man's name has not been released.
