Officers began pursuing Gonzalez, who rarely exceeded speeds of 45 mph, according to a police statement. At one point officers tried to stop the suspect's vehicle using a spike strip, but Gonzalez was able to drive around, investigators said. The suspect finally came to a stop in the driveway of home on the 2200 bock of Sycamore Drive.
Police say methampphetamine and burglary tools were found in his car and that Gonzalez appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and later booked on several felony charges.
