Katy Perry, Elmo speak out about taped duet

NEW YORK In the video, Perry plays tag with Elmo while reprising her hit song "Hot N Cold." It was supposed to air during the new season of "Sesame Street."

"Sesame Street" said it decided to pull the clip because of feedback it received on YouTube from parents who said Perry's gold bustier was too revealing.

Perry reacted to the news on Twitter saying, "Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short!"

On "Good Morning America," "Sesame Street" executive producer Carol-Lynn Parente and Elmo talked about what happened.

"We would never, never produce anything that we thought was inappropriate," Parente said. "We were surprised at not only the amount of feedback, but how fast it came in."

When asked if Elmo was sad about the decision to pull the taped duet, he said, "We'll have another one. Elmo loves Miss Katy, and we had a good time, so we'll have another play date."
