NASA'S Cassini spacecraft took new images showing Saturn's green shimmering aurora. The images are helping scientists understand what drives some of the solar system's most vibrant light shows.

NASA believes Saturn's aurora is connected to the angle of the sun, as well as the planet's electromagnetic field.

The aurora on Saturn occurs in a process similar to earth's northern and southern lights.
