8 arrested in rival gang fight in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. According to the /*Ventura County Sheriff's Department*/, the fight happened on Eucalyptus Drive near Santa Clara Avenue, near the 101 Freeway.

Investigators said the fight began when several gang members, armed with baseball bats and hammers, confronted a group of rival gang members inside a house. Two-pound ball bearings were also thrown through the windows.

Gang investigators eventually tracked down the suspects, all of whom are from /*Oxnard*/.

Five suspects were arrested on the day of the fight. They are identified as 18-year-old Anthony Mendez, 21-year-old Diego Duran, 22-year old Josh Rodriguez a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male.

The charges vary for each suspect but they include street terrorism and assault with a deadly weapon. The 16-year-old was arrested for a lesser charge.

Rodriguez is also facing an additional charge of violating parole, and Mendez is facing an additional resisting arrest charge.

The following day, officials tracked down the other three suspects. They were identified as18-year-old Robert Cervantes, 18-year-old Manuel Cervantes and an unidentified 17-year-old male.

All three were arrested for street terrorism and assault with a deadly weapon.
