Police release sketch of attempted kidnapper

BUENA PARK, Calif. Police say the attempted kidnapping occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 when the victim got off a bus at Commonwealth Avenue and Dale Street and was approached by the man. The suspect then tried to push the woman into the black SUV while another man, seated in the vehicle, tried to pull her toward the back seat, police said.

The victim was able to fight off the suspects and flee. The woman was unharmed. The suspects fled in a black SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe, with dark-tinted windows, police said.

The victim told detectives she often uses OCTA buses. She said she has seen her attacker several times on bus route #25, which originates in Huntington Beach, but had never interacted with him, police said.

A composite sketch of the second suspect has not been released.

Buena Park Police detectives are hoping that bus riders, or witnesses to the attack, will recognize the suspect. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call Detective Rick Pino at (714) 562-3966.
