Lost Joshua Tree hiker found after 6 days

YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. According to a /*Joshua Tree National Park*/ spokesman, Edward Rosenthal, 64, was found alive. He was hospitalized for dehydration and was expected to remain in the hospital for two more days.

Crews had been searching for Rosenthal, an experience hiker, after he did not return from a hike as planned on Sept. 24. Authorities said Rosenthal was first reported missing on Sunday afternoon.

The /*Culver City*/ resident is known for brokering deals to sell historic downtown office and industrial buildings for conversion into condominium or apartment buildings.

He also has a reputation for writing short, humorous poems and reading them aloud at public events.
