'Muscle Shirt Bandit' hits several L.A. banks

LOS ANGELES /*Los Angeles Police Department*/ officials said the robber struck three banks just minutes apart from each other.

He is linked with the robbery or attempted robbery of a /*Santa Fe Springs*/ U.S. Bank, a Citibank branch on Wilshire Boulevard and a Wells Fargo branch also on Wilshire Boulevard.

He was wearing a light-colored tank top and a baseball cap. He was also seen carrying a dark-colored backpack during the crimes.

The suspect is described as a 35- to 42-year-old Hispanic male between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 210 inches tall, weighing about 180 to 185 pounds.

Witnesses said he had several visible tattoos, including one on his neck that said "Down4theSickness."
