South L.A. apartment fire forces 9 from home

A South Los Angeles apartment on West 85th Street caught fire Sunday around 3:30 a.m. and forced a family of nine out from their home. No serious injuries were reported.

A South Los Angeles apartment caught fire Sunday morning and forced a family of nine out from their home.The fire was reported just before 3:30 a.m. on West 85th Street.

Two adults and seven children were inside at the time. They were able to get out without any serious injuries.

An adult male did suffer some minor burns. His wife and children were taken to the hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation.

The American Red Cross is helping the family find a temporary place to stay.
