'Beauty and the Beast' available on Blu-ray

LOS ANGELES Even though it first waltzed into theaters in November of 1991, "Beauty and the Beast" has never really left us or the lives of the actors who lent their voices to it.

"We're lucky. Its' an amazing film," said actor Robby Benson. "It was wonderful to be a part of it. It all came together with wonderful teamwork and now you can see it on Blu-ray. It's spectacular to look at. The sound is breathtaking."

"The technology is at another level, you see things in the film now that you've never seen before," said actress Paige O'Hara.

Benson voiced the role of 'The Beast' and O'Hara's brought Belle to life. The two were part of a Broadway trained cast. A cast filled with performers that even made the two leads a little star struck.

"One of my favorite moments was watching Angela Lansbury, who I idolize. She was nervous about singing the title song, 'Beauty and the Beast.' She got behind mic and nailed it in one take."

O'Hara still voices Belle for various Disney projects.

Benson says when he does "The Beast" it's with trepidation. He's most often asked by fans to roar.

"They want to hear me roar. I say, 'No, you don't want that.' They say, 'Please do it," said Benson. "So when I do the moms are happy and the babies start crying."

Benson still performs in movies and on stage, and has written two best-selling books. But he's also spent the past 20 years as a teacher. He's currently a professor of film at NYU.

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
