October 9, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot at least three times in the chest in front of a Fullerton elementary school in an apparent gang-related shooting, authorities said.Another boy, whom was walking with the victim, was also shot at. It is unclear if he was wounded or what his age is.

Police said a car drove by Topaz Elementary School just after 8 p.m. and a lone male inside the car yelled gang slogans out the window at the boys. The man fired at least three shots, hitting one of the boys, who appeared to be the intended target, police said.

"They were approached by a lone male Hispanic in a baseball cap with a handgun," said Sgt. Andrew Goodrich of the Fullerton Police Department. "(The boys) were confronted, some words were exchanged -- I don't know what words -- and then he shot at the victim three or four times."

Authorities said the shooter is Hispanic and was wearing a baseball cap.

Police are still investigating the incident.
