LAPD case to be on 'America's Most Wanted'

LOS ANGELES Jesus Lopez Gonzales is wanted for three counts of vehicular manslaughter from a June 29, 1996, hit-and-run traffic collision. Three men, all in their 20s, were killed.

According to a police report, Friedrich Allmendinger, 22, Thomas Gibson, 23, and Faustino Sanchez, 23, were driving home after picking up some late-night hamburgers. A Dodge Ram pickup truck raced through a red light and slammed into the victims' Volkswagen.

Allmendinger, Gibson, and Sanchez all died at the scene.

According to witnesses, the driver of the Dodge Ram, who was later identified as Jesus Lopez Gonzales, emerged from his truck, grabbed his white cowboy hat from the passenger seat, and casually strolled away.

More than a decade has passed, and Gonzalez has never resurfaced.

Investigators hope someone will come forward with information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call (877) LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call Crimestoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
