Thousand Oaks gets $10M from federal stimulus

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. City officials say $7.7 million from the stimulus will go towards transportation projects, including design work for the widening of the Highway 23/Highway 101 interchange.

Three projects have already been completed with stimulus funding, including $900,000 for new catch basins and storm drain pipes, $183,000 for the installation of new heating and air conditioning systems in 63 low income units at the Vella Vista Apartments and $3,000 for the addition of a salad bar at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, according to a city report.
