O.C. man charged with wife's shooting murder

SANTA ANA, Calif. Antonio Garcia, 36, allegedly shot and killed 34-year-old Adriana Garcia in her Santa Ana home on Saturday morning. Officials said the victim had a restraining order against her former husband stemming from past attacks.

According to police, Garcia shot the victim in the head, left her body in a bedroom and then called 911.

When officers arrived, Garcia was sitting inside of his car near the crime scene. He locked himself in his truck and threatened to shoot himself in the head. The SWAT team was called in, and a four-hour standoff ensued. Garcia eventually gave himself in and was arrested.

Garcia is charged with one felony count of murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal discharge of a firearm causing death.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison. Garcia is being held on $1 million bail.
