PG&E offers buyout to NorCal blast homeowners

SAN BRUNO, Calif.

The San Francisco chronicle reported that /*Pacific Gas & Electric Co.*/ began distributing the buyout offers last week.

It's unclear how many homeowners they've approached.

According to the newspaper, homeowners who agree to sell within six months will receive a $50,000 bonus.

Eight people were killed in the Sept. 9 natural gas pipeline blast and following fire which destroyed 37 homes and damaged 18 others.

Many homeowners had expressed concerns over property values in the wake of the explosion and fire.
