New eateries, retailers coming to LAX

LOS ANGELES The retail and food concessions terminals four, five, seven and eight generate around $55 million a year in revenue.

But some travelers coming into Los Angeles say change was needed.

"It would be nice to have the kind of restaurants where you can sit and enjoy," said Jeannine Hester of Atlanta.

Higher-end food choices, some said, is a lot better than what's available now.

After more than a year of going through bids and negotiations, the Los Angeles City Council voted to bring in new eateries, including Wolfgang Puck Express, the Homegirl Cafe, and Carl's Jr.

New stores are on the way as well.

Contracts were awarded to Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who will open Magic Johnson Sports.

An express spa will also be added.

Officials said some of the new food and retail stores will be in business by next summer, which will make waiting for your flight a little more palatable.
