The responding officer arrived at the scene and attempted to contact the man, identified by police as 30-year-old David Salas of Corona. A confrontation ensued, and police said Salas brandished a weapon, and the officer shot him.
Salas was treated at the scene and taken to an area hospital, where he eventually died.
