One fisherman died and another was badly injured after they were thrown from their boat in Santa Monica on Saturday. The coroner's office said 52-year-old Lewis Anderson of Anaheim had a heart attack while attempting to swim ashore and later died at the hospital.

The other fisherman on board who also fell off the boat suffered hypothermia and was rushed to the hospital. His name was not released. His condition is not known at this time.

Apparently, the boat broke anchor around 8:30 p.m. The fisherman then lost control of their boat and were thrown into the chilly water.
