3.7-mag. earthquake hits Long Beach area

LONG BEACH, Calif. The quake, which was initially estimated at 3.8, hit at 9:06 a.m. Residents in Compton, Cerritos and Long Beach reported feeling shaking.

"Usually when we have earthquakes, it's a roll. It was just a big jolt. I thought it was a truck," said Hannah Hagler of Long Beach.

Jeff Sustaita of Long Beach agreed, saying he thought the jolt was someone hitting his house.

"It just shook, there was no wave after it, and it just kind of felt like the earth had shivered," said Drew Wall of Long Beach.

There were no reports of any damage or injuries.
