VANCOUVER, Canada --
A would-be thief picked the wrong convenience store to threaten a store clerk in Vancouver as a customer in a wheelchair came to the rescue. Caught on surveillance camera, Larry Skopnik got the suspect in a headlock and tackled him to the ground as the clerk was thrown to the floor.
Several other customers pitched in, subduing the man while the clerk called 911.
Skopnik, who has been in a wheelchair since an ATV accident 10 years ago, said the store and the neighborhood were like family and that was what people needed to do in that kind of community.
