OTRC: Lily Allen 'responding well' to treatment for blood poisoning

Lily Allen and boyfriend Sam Cooper married at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England, in June 2011. Wearing a white lace gown designed by French designer Delphine Manivet, the pop singer married Cooper in an intimate ceremony. Allen's father, actor Keith Allen gave her away to Cooper, who is a decorator and business owner. The British pop singer announced in August that she was expecting her first child with Cooper, a business owner, but suffered a miscarriage in early November. She was six months pregnant when she lost her baby for the second time. Allen also suffered a miscarriage in 2008 during her relationship with musician Ed Simons of the group the Chemical Brothers. Lily Allen is reportedly "responding well" to treatment for her septicemia, a blood poisoning condition, after she was rushed to a hospital last week following a miscarriage.

Septicemia can occur when fetal material left behind in the womb after a miscarriage becomes infected. Allen, 25, was six months pregnant when she lost her baby for the second time, it was reported last week.

MTV UK quoted Allen's spokesperson as saying recently that the singer is "responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve. Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone while she recovers."

She had announced in August that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Sam Cooper, 32. The two have been together for more than a year. Allen also suffered a miscarriage in 2008 during her relationship with musician Ed Simons of the group the Chemical Brothers.
