OTRC: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt set to renew vows after calling off divorce, in what would mark third wedding

Attention-loving on-again, off-again couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of the MTV reality show 'The Hills' dominated entertainment news headlines for weeks at a time in 2010. Montag filed for divorce in July after separating a month earlier. The two reconciled following a trip to Costa Rica and she called off the legal proceedings in September 2010. In November, they announced they were bankrupt. (Pictured: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt appear in a promotional photo for 'The Hills'.) (MTV)

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are set to renew their wedding vows after almost divorcing, in what would mark their third marriage ceremony.

Montag, 24, and Pratt, 27, starred in the MTV reality show "The Hills," which ended earlier this year, and have often been said to stage publicity stunts.

The couple eloped in Mexico in November 2008 but their marriage was not recognized in the United States. They then wed in a traditional ceremony in Pasadena, California in front of family and friends on April 25, 2009, which was featured on the television series.

In July, Montag filed for divorce from Pratt, a Los Angeles socialite depicted as the villain on "The Hills". The two reconciled in late September following a trip to Costa Rica.

"This is like our first marriage," Montag told the "Entertainment Tonight" television program. "I feel like our first one was an elopement and we had so many margaritas and it was such a crazy time. And then the second one wasn't our wedding. It was just a 'Hills' wedding and it was for all the people there and it was about everyone else."

"Entertainment Tonight" said the two have already consulted with a wedding stylist, have checked out gowns and tuxedos and have tasted wedding cakes.

Pratt said their wedding ceremony on "The Hills" was "so fake and not real", adding: "It was a movie, it was a script and it didn't feel right. No one in that building wanted us to get married. It was a nightmare."

Earlier this month, Life & Style magazine reported that Pratt and Montag were bankrupt, adding that they owe about $2 million in taxes. The two have not commented publicly.
