Harrison Ford takes on comedy in new film

November 12, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
In "Morning Glory," Harrison Ford plays a celebrated and serious newsman. But if he wants to keep his multi-million dollar salary, he'll have to join his network's not so serious and very low-rated morning show."I like doing comedy. You know, there's not a lot of comedy being done these days that has as much intelligence and wit to it as this does, so I was very happy to have this one come across my desk," said Ford.

Ford shares the morning anchor desk with Diane Keaton. While Rachel McAdams plays the show's new producer, who's desperate to get the ratings up before it's too late for all of them.

"She's (Rachel McAdams) a wonderful comedian and as well she has a real emotional reality. She's got an emotional accessibility that lays underneath the comedy and is very real and visceral," said Ford.

Since Ford is in a movie about morning news shows, does he ever watch them?

"You know, I do. I'm usually the first one up, first one down to the kitchen to make coffee and I turn on the news," said Ford.

"Morning Glory" is rated PG-13.
