MURRIETA, Calif. --A major Inland Empire hospital has been fined again for allegedly failing to follow proper surgical procedures. It has now become the most fined hospital in state history.The California Dept. of Health announced Friday a $25,000 fine for Southwest Healthcare System in Murrieta. The health department says the penalty comes from a 2008 surgery when a 10-inch instrument was left inside a patient. This is the hospital's seventh fine from the state, a new record for one facility. Meanwhile fines were announced Friday for seven other Southern California hospitals as well.
