Despite how their relationship ended with scandal, LeAnn Rimes publicly congratulated her ex-husband, Dean Sheremet, on his engagement Saturday.
"Congrats to @deansheremet and @sarah_silver on your engagement! A little birdie told me the happy news last night," Rimes Tweeted. "Wishes for a life full of happiness."
Sheremet, who is a chef, proposed to photographer Sarah Silver in New York, according to US Weekly. Rimes and Sheremet's divorce was finalized in June. A few fans Tweeted back to Rimes asking if her sentiments were sincere, and Rimes replied to one follower, "My congrats is from my heart. Sorry if you don't understand it. "
The singer recently denied her own engagement rumors. The country music star spoke out about the rumors on Twitter on November 5 saying, "Eddie (Cibrian) and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all." Rimes continued, "And hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friend's before the world knows (contrary to reports on our intentions)."
The couple initially sent people buzzing with engagement chatter when on October 31, when Cibrian posted a photo of Rimes covering her mouth in as he gets down and pretends to propose to her. She later said it was a Halloween joke.
LeAnn Rimes told ABC's Robin Roberts in an early November interview that she does not regret cheating on her then ex-husband with Eddie Cibrian, who was also married when he and the singer began their relationship while filming the 2009 Lifetime movie "Northern Lights."
Cibrian also finalized his own divorce from model Brandi Glanville in October. The former couple has two sons named Mason and Jake. Cibrian moved in with Rimes in Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley over the summer.
"What happened is not who I am, period," Rimes told Roberts during the "All Access Nashville" special. "But I do know how much I love him [Cibrian]. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can"
