Bill Nye, who hosted the Disney series "Bill Nye the Science Guy" in the 1990s, is feeling better after recently collapsing onstage during a presentation at the University of Southern California, his spokesperson says.

Nye appeared to have fainted for several seconds at the Tuesday event and then continued his presentation but began slurring his words and stumbling. He was eventually removed from the stage.

"Bill Nye is feeling much better after a good night's rest," his spokesperson told USA Today. "He says he pushed himself too hard after a long day of an early satellite media tour combined with a late night speech."

Student Tristan Camacho, who attended the lecture, told the Los Angeles Times that the 54-year-old fainted mid-sentence and then after about 10 seconds, "popped back up with much gusto and asked everybody how long he was out for and went on with a story about how a similar thing happened to him that morning."

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene but it was unclear if Nye was treated.
