Chelsea Handler has reportedly bought a home in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air for almost $6 million.
Handler, a 35-year-old comedienne and host of E! talk show "Chelsea Lately", has not commented on the report by the Realestalker blog, which tracks celebrity property deals. An MLS listing shows the 5,572-square-foot home in question was sold on November 4 for $5,942,500 and boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
The property was built in 1964 and contains glass walls, a large Master suite with double hot tubs and showers, a 50 foot-long pool, a gym, a security system and a room-size walk-in closet. Handler said on her E! blog in July that she had moved into a new home for the summer but gave no further details.
The real estate agent that had provided the property listing is Mauricio Umansky, husband of "The Real Hosuewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards and uncle of heiress Paris Hilton.
Handler had once lived with then-boyfriend Ted Harbert, who was recently made chairman of NBC Broadcasting following the company's ongoing merger with Comcast. The company owns E! Entertainment Television, which the 55-year-old had managed as CEO.
The two ended their four-year relationship earlier this year. Property records show that in May, Harbert bought out Handler's share of their condominium in the coastal Los Angeles neighborhood of Marina del Rey for more than $1.1 million.
