Teri Hatcher denies a British newspaper report that says she plans to quit 'Desperate Housewives', saying that she will stay on the ABC drama series, which is currently on its seventh season, until it is canceled.
The Daily Mail had quoted an unnamed source as saying Hatcher, a 45-year-old actress who has played Susan on the hit ABC show since it began in 2004, had given in her notice and wants to concentrate on a new comedy series that is allegedly in the works.
"There are not enough adjectives to describe how stupid, off base, and ridiculously untrue this is," Hatcher said on her Facebook page. "What disturbs me the most is that one fan would consider for one second that I would "quit" what has been ...one of the highlights of my career for which I am grateful on a daily basis. I love DH, the cast and crew are like family and I am with it till its cancelled."
Hatcher also praised newcomer Vanessa Williams, who joined the series earlier this year and plays Renee.
"Vanessa Williams and the writers have brought a new energy to the show this year and I expect and hope it can continue on for a long time," Hatcher said. "I meet many people who still find so much joy in watching it and I want everyone to know I'm joyful to be involved to this day and that's not going to change."
