Terry, who has been in Afghanistan since March, saved up vacation days to make it home for the holiday.
Once she saw her daughter, she raced over to her son's school to surprise him.
"You want to be here to protect your children. You want to be able to help your children and you're thousands of miles away, days away from your children," said Terry.
It didn't take her long to get back into mom mode - after giving her son a big hug she wanted to know why he wasn't wearing his retainer.
