Dwayne Johnson, aka "The Rock", says he recently finished filming the fifth installment to the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, which features him as a villain out to get Vin Diesel.
The movie, titled "Fast Five", is set for release on April 29, 2011 and sees Diesel reprising his role as Dom Toretto. Johnson, 38, plays federal agent Luke Hobbs, who is assigned to capture the bad boy racer and his friend Brian O'Conner, a former cop played by Paul Walker.
"The 'Fast and the Furious' franchise is an incredibly successful franchise. How do we make it interesting? How to we elevate it?" Johnson said. "The way that Universal had come up with - well, if there's going to be one man on the planet that's going to hunt down Vin Diesel, it's going to be me. I loved it. We shot it. Very, very exciting and I think we made a dynamite movie."
The actor made his comments to Cari Skillman of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company, in an interview to promote his latest film "Faster", which opened on Friday. In the movie, Johnson, a former professional wrestler, plays a man who spends a decade in jail plotting to kill the people responsible for his brother's murder.
