Hemet police step up security after attacks

ABC7 Eyewitness News HD covering Los Angeles and Southern California.

November 29, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
The Hemet Police Department is investing thousands of dollars to step up security at its Latham Street station after repeated attacks.

The improvements include surrounding the building with wrought iron fencing and the installation of floodlights, surveillance cameras and windows with bullet-resistant coating.

The more than $200,000 worth of improvements come after the department was the target of a least nine attacks.

Two men have been arrested for four of those attacks.
