Country stars gather for Christmas special

NASHVILLE, Tenn. "Really this being a Christmas show, it's much more relaxed and cozy, it's a lot warmer," said Nettle.

Joined by some of their family members, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Sheryl Crow and Sugarland will share with fans their holiday traditions and memories.

"I remember as a child we watched every Christmas special we could get at our house," said Little Big Town band member Kimberly Schlapman. "So hopefully this'll be one of those memorable moments for everybody."

Darius Rucker is performing a new holiday song that he also co-wrote.

"It's called 'Candy Cane Christmas' and we wanted to write a standard, is what we were trying to do when we wrote it," said Rucker. "It's just pretty cool that they wanted me to sing it, and hopefully people will like it."

And Nettles promises an ending that's not to be missed.

"There's a fun finale... a fun-nale," she said. "There's lots of fun as well. There's lots of harmonies going on, lots of vocals, and different choices. I mean, there's fun stuff, there's even sexy stuff. I promise you, be watching, there is some of that, too."

The "CMA Country Christmas" special airs at 9:30 p.m. Monday following "Skating With the Stars" on ABC7.
