12-foot-long oarfish washes ashore in Malibu

A 12-foot-long bony oarfish typically found in tropical waters washed ashore in Malibu on Sunday, Nov. 28. Laura Wasserman and her son found the fish and called the California Wildlife Center. The Los Angeles County Natural History Museum this week took possession of the serpentine fish and will do tests to figure out its last meal, how it died and why it wandered ashore. <span class=meta>(KABC Photo/ Viewer Laura Z.
