Holiday parades in L.A., Ventura counties

LOS ANGELES The 43rd annual Pacoima Christmas Festival & Parade kicked off at 9 a.m. The parade, which is themed, "Spirit of Pacoima: Soaring to New Heights" ran from Amboy Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard and ended at David Gonzalez Recreation Center at 10943 Herrick Ave in Pacoima.

For those in Watts and Willowbrook, the festivities kicked off at noon for the 45th annual Watts/Willowbrook Christmas Parade. The parade started off at El Segundo Boulevard and Clovis Avenue and finished at 103rd Street and Grandee Avenue.

Also, there was a waterfront float parade in San Pedro Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Harbor "Holiday Afloat" Parade began at 6 p.m., starting from the Port of Los Angeles' Main Channel.

In Ventura County, Oxnard's parade started at 10 a.m. in downtown and was followed by a tamale festival in Plaza Park.
