Riverside to begin dog leash safety campaign

RIVERSIDE, Calif. The Department of Animal Services plans to remind residents to always have their dog on a leash before leaving their homes. This is a way to keep the dog safe from other animals and potential road hazards.

The safety campaign will officially kick off at two popular dog-walking locations: Sycamore Canyon and Mount Rubidoux. The program will run from Dec. 6 and through Jan. 15.

There are two dog parks in Riverside that provide safe off-leash activities within enclosed areas: Carlson Dog Park at 4700 Buena Vista Drive and Riverwalk Bark Park at Pierce Street and Riverside Parkway.
