Obama stumbles over tricky word in speech

December 6, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
During a speech at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, President Barack Obama fumbled over a word but recovered like a pro.

Obama was attempting to say the word, "superfluous," when he became a little tongue-tied, but quick thinking helped him come up with a good excuse.

He blamed it on the 12 stitches he received after he accidentally cut his lip during a recent pickup basketball game.
