JAPAN --About 120 musicians arrived with a variety of colorful shovels to face-off in a very unusual music contest held in Japan last weekend. Judges were searching for the best shovel player. Musicians were only allowed to play their shovel using a bottle opener or spoon.
The shovels appeared to be a Do-It-Yourself version of the shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument similar to the lute.
There was no word about who won the contest.
