Willow Smith, the 10-year-old daughter of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, is set to perform her hit song "Whip My Hair" at "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" event, which is hosted by "American Idol"'s Ryan Seacrest.
The singer has become a fashion icon thanks to the track, whose official music video has been viewed more than 23 million times online since it debuted in mid-October. She made her television debut performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November.
"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" is produced by Clark, 81, and will this year also feature live New York and Los Angeles performances from "American Idol" album Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo, Avril Lavigne, Drake, Jason Derulo, La Roux, Mike Posner, Natasha Bedingfield, Far East Movement and Train, ABC said in a statement. The event, which will last more than three hours, is set to air on December 31 at 10 p.m.
Fergie of the hip hop group the Black Eyed Peas will host the Los Angeles-based party portions of the special, marking the fifth time she has done so, while actress Jenny McCarthy will report from New York's Times Square. The show is watched by millions of people annually, shows New Year's celebrations around the globe and features the iconic ball drop in New York City.
