Amy Adams says Mark Wahlberg's character in "The Fighter", which is about real-life boxer "Irish" Micky Ward, is sexy.
"The Fighter" tells of how Ward's brother, portrayed by Christian Bale, helped the boxer before he went pro in the mid 1980s. Adams, 36, plays Ward's love interest, a cocktail waitress named Charlene, who later becomes his wife. One scene shows Ward smacking a man who talks rudely to her.
"It's sexy," she told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the recent Los Angeles premiere of "The Fighter". "He's sexy. When a man defends you and a man stands up for you, that is very, very sexy. I think he earned his love through his being and he's such as a giver and I know that he gave a lot to Charlene."
Adams began her on-screen acting career about 10 years ago with parts in shows such as "Charmed" and "Smallville" and the film "Cruel Intentions 2" before starring movies such as "Catch Me If You Can" in 2002, Disney's "Enchanted" in 2007 and "Julie & Julia" in 2009.
She was nominated for an Oscar for her roles in the 2009 movie "Doubt" and the 2006 film "Junebug".
