Bisphenol-A chemical found on dollar bills

LOS ANGELES According to a new report by the group, Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, a small amount of Bisphenol-A was discovered on several dollar bills.

Back in July, an environmental group found that BPA was detected on cash register receipts too.

The chemical, which is commonly used in plastic bottles, has been linked to cancer in studies.

Canada has declared it a toxic substance.

BPA manufacturers insist the chemical is safe and shows up in only trace amounts in people.
