Will pop singer Katy Perry become Katy Brand? It might be a reality soon.
The chart-topping pop singer revealed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she's in the process of taking comedian Russell Brand's last name. The two were married on October 23 and Perry tells DeGeneres that now, if people want to get her attention, they call her by her husband's surname.
"Like if I'm at an event or something like that, and they want special attention, they go, 'Mrs. Brand!' And I go shwoosh," Perry said on the program, according to People.
Perry didn't specify if she'll change her stage name to Brand's or if the change will just be for personal use. She went on to describe her husband as "a smorgasbord of things."
She added, "A sense of humor is really important in our household. That's how we de-stress, and we like to have a laugh."
