Jessica Simpson, a pop singer who is worth millions, reportedly wants to sign a prenuptial agreement with fiance Eric Johnson, which would protect her money and assets should the two ever divorce.
Simpson, 30, and Johnson, a 31-year-old former NFL player, have not commented. They began dating in May and announced their engagement in mid-November.
"There will definitely be a prenup," Us Weekly quoted a source close to Simpson and Johnson as saying. "Jessica has said she wants one. He's supportive of it. He really loves her. He's a low key guy. He's not into the glitz and materialism of Hollywood at all."
Simpson was married to singer Nick Lachey between 2002 and 2006. The two had no prenup and he walked away with half of the $30 million she earned a year before their divorce.
Johnson, who played for the San Francisco 49ers and then the New Orleans Saints before he was released from his contract in 2008, filed for divorce from his wife Keri in January after five years of marriage and their divorce was finalized in the fall.
