SANTA MARIA, Calif. --
An escaped reindeer from the Christmas tree lot was captured safe and sound in Santa Barbara by a cowbody. The 9-year-old reindeer was on the lam for two and a half hours Thursday, scampering through busy streets around the Santa Maria Fairpark, strawberry fields and residential areas.
Rancher Bob Acquistapace, wearing a cowboy hat, boots and spurs, lassoed and tied the runaway animal to a lamppost.
The reindeer appeared to be out of breath after the ordeal, but no injuries were reported.
