Gwyneth Paltrow is set to return to "Glee" and reprise her role as free-spirited substitute teacher Holly Holiday.

The 38-year-old actress showcased her singing chops on the hit FOX musical sitcom in a recent episode, covering Cee-Lo Green's "Forget You" and performing a mashup of Rihanna's "Umbrella" and the show tune "Singin' in the Rain" with actor Matthew Morrison, who plays glee club director Will Schuester.

"I'm going to do one more," Paltrow told the "Access Hollywood" television program. "I signed up for two. I'm excited! I love Ryan Murphy. He's an old friend of mine and I was just in awe of everybody's talent and getting to work with Jane Lynch and Matt Morrison is so adorable and all the kids - it was just great. It was really fun."

Murphy, the show's co-creator, directed Paltrow in the 2006 film "Running With Scissors". She is one of several celebrity guest stars that has appeared on the show, along with John Stamos of "ER" and "Full House" fame, who plays a dentist, and singer Britney Spears, who played herself in an episode that paid tribute to her work.

Paltrow had said she had never seen "Glee", which depicts a high school glee club made up of misfits and popular kids, before she was asked to appear on the show for the first time and touted Murphy's "demented imagination.""Glee" returns with new episodes in February, following the 2011 Super Bowl.

Paltrow, an Oscar winner, also plays a country singer in the upcoming movie "Country Strong", which stars Tim McGraw and "Gossip Girl"'s Leighton Meester, and provides her own vocals on a song by the same name. She performed the title track at the 2010 CMA Awards last month.

In the film, Paltrow plays Kelly Canter, a country singer looking for a comeback and McGraw, a real-life country star, plays her husband and manager. Meester, who plays snotty new York socialite Blair Waldorf in the CW series Gossip Girl and who has also released music, portrays a former beauty queen. The movie was written and directed by Shana Feste and is set to be released on Jan. 7, 2011.
