Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine in the "X-Men" films, was recently injured in his native Australia while filming a stunt for Oprah Winfrey's special "Oprah's Ultimate Australian Adventure" at the Sydney Opera House.
Jackman, 42, injured his face after he hit the brakes too late while making a dramatic entrance on a sliding cable from the top of the building and crashed into the stage's light rigging, The Hollywood Reporter said, adding that the actor was removed from the set bleeding from underneath his right eye. He received medical attention and returned for an interview.
"That was so much fun, until the end," Jackman said, according to Reuters. "I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad, the kids and you (Winfrey), went to pull the brake and then boing."
Winfrey had flown to Australia more than 302 guests from a taping of her talk show in the United States. Other Australian guests set to appear on her special include Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban and singer Olivia Newton-John. American rock band Bon Jovi also performed for her audience in the country.
Winfrey is set to host a new television program on her new OWN channel that is scheduled to launch next year..
